Foundation Math is a web-based program that is paperless and provides immediate feedback to students and teachers.
In just 15 minutes a day, K-12 students engage in individualized practice of core math facts, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and basic concepts or benchmarks for fractions, decimals, geometry, and measurement.
Why It Works
The goal of Foundation Math is to help students gain automaticity in math: quick, accurate, automatic recall of facts with little effort which frees up the mind for complex processes.
Automaticity reduces the cognitive load on students trying to process information, helps students avoid math anxiety, and is a significant predictor of performance in math.
About Us
Made by teachers, for teachers.
Jamie and Julie taught 4th-grade math together at the same school. They were both facing the same struggle – students who were not fluent in their math facts faced extreme difficulties.
So, they decided to dedicate the first 10-15 minutes of every math class to focus on math facts. After seeing the incredible growth and confidence their students gained, they decided to create Foundation Math.
